About This Project
A $25 million Nevada/NSF-EPSCoR Track-1 Research Infrastructure Improvement grant, the Harnessing the Data Revolution for Fire Science project (HDRFS) is a statewide Team Science effort to improve capability for fire science across NSHE.
Research scientists and engineers across DRI, UNLV, and UNR are focused on scaling pre-, post-, and active-fire observation and modeling, using a combination of traditional methods, automated drone platforms, and data fusion with machine learning. This project drives shared cyberinfrastructure environments spanning field sites and institutions, including field wireless networks, connected UAS, big data storage, and AI computing.
