SCS uses the Cisco AnyConnect VPN client to facilitate connectivity to NSHE resources.  To install and connect, follow the instructions below.

  1. Download the Cisco AnyConnect client software and launch the installer.

  2. Click Next.

  3. Click I accept the terms in the License Agreement and click Next.

  4. Click Install.

  5. Click Finish.

  6. Launch the Cisco AnyConnect Secure Mobility Client.

  7. In the text box, enter rs-webvpn.nevada.edu to connect to Reno or ls-webvpn.nevada.edu to connect to Las Vegas, then click Connect.

  8. Enter your Active Directory username and password and click OK.  Once the connection is established, you will see a notice that the VPN was connected.

  9. You will be prompted through the Okta MFA provider to either enter an Okta Verify passcode, or to authorize the connection using one of the MFA factors you previously
    configured in Okta, such as Okta Verify.

  10. Once connected, the Cisco AnyConnect software icon in the notification area near your system clock will show a locked padlock.configured in Okta, such as Okta Verify.

  11. To disconnect, right-click on the CiscoAnyConnect icon in the notification area and click VPN Disconnect.

  12. To exit the VPN client, right-click on the Cisco AnyConnect icon and click Quit.

  1. Download the Cisco AnyConnect client software and launch the installer.

  2. Click Continue.

  3. Click Continue.

  4. Click Continue.

  5. Select your destination drive (Ex. “Macintosh HD”), then click Continue.

  6. Click Install.

  7. Enter your password if prompted OR leave the password field blank if you do not have a password and click Install Software.

  8. Click Close.

  9. Open Applications → Cisco folder OR Launchpad and click the Cisco AnyConnect Secure Mobility Client icon.

  10. In the text box, enter rs-webvpn.nevada.edu to connect to Reno or ls-webvpn.nevada.edu to connect to Las Vegas, then click Connect.

  11. Enter your Active Directory username and password and click OK . Once the connection is established, you will see a notice that the VPN was connected.

  14. To disconnect, right-click OR [control] + click on the Cisco AnyConnect icon in the dock and click Disconnect.

  15. To exit the VPN client, right-click OR [control] + click on the Cisco AnyConnect icon and click Quit.
